Abstract

Introduction: The process of becoming a mother is one of the most enjoyable and evolutionary events in women's lives, however, due to the physical and psychological changes, it can be accompanied by some degrees of tension and anxiety. Stress, anxiety and depression are among the factors that affect performance and lack of self-care in pregnant women. Although stress is generally an adaptive response to environmental challenges, stressful factors during pregnancy may have a negative effect on the health of pregnant mothers and their babies. Stress and anxiety are among the most obvious signs in the behaviors and clinical symptoms of pregnant mothers, and since women endure many physical and psychological changes during pregnancy, their susceptibility to different life stresses increases during this period. This period becomes very important from the point of view of psychological aspect. Methods and Materials: This research is a cross-sectional type and its data was collected from 404 pregnant women who were eligible to enter the study, who had visited Shahid Muftah Clinic Health Center in Yasuj to receive care during pregnancy. The information was collected using personal profile forms and the standard sleep quality questionnaire of Pittsburgh, the stress-anxiety-depression questionnaire and the morning-evening questionnaire of Horn and Esterberg, which were completed by the research units, by random sampling and by spss24 software was analyzed. Descriptive and analytical statistical methods were used to analyze the data. Results: The mean age of the studied women was 29.14±6.24. Among the 404 pregnant women studied, 32.7% had anxiety, 31.9% had depression, 24.3% had stress, and 67.3% had poor sleep quality, 19.6% of pregnant women had a sleep pattern of 6.6 17% had a morning sleep pattern and 62.9% had a middle sleep pattern. Most of the examined samples were 272 people without anxiety, 306 people without stress, 275 people without depression, and 254 people had an average sleep pattern, and 272 people had poor sleep quality.statistically, there was no significant relationship between anxiety level and demographic variables such as age, education level and occupation. The level of depression had a significant relationship with variables such as age and education level. Conclusion and Discussion: In Yasuj, pregnant women have a low prevalence of sleep and mental disorders. To improve sleep quality, a program for diagnosis and treatment should complement routine prenatal care. The study found that certain biological and psychological maternal traits significantly influence low birth weight and fasting blood sugar. Demographic variables also impact mental and physical health. These findings highlight the need for targeted prevention programs for sleep and mental disorders in pregnant women in Yasuj.
