Abstract
Introduction: Today, due to the spread of chronic diseases and the increasing prevalence of aging, , home care is becoming more common due to its comfort, personalization, and cost-effectiveness. However, it also presents risks such as unsafe environments and limited emergency support. Given nurses' key role in home care, ensuring safety is essential for service quality and patient satisfaction. this study was conducted to determine the status of safe nursing care and its related factors among nurses providing home care in Tehran. 2. Methods and Materials: This descriptive-analytical study was conducted in 1403 on 250 nurses working in home care centers in Tehran. The sample was selected by stratified random method. The data collection tools were demographic information questionnaire and safe nursing care evaluation questionnaire. The data were analyzed with SPSS version 21 software and descriptive statistical indices and univariate and multiple regression tests. The significance level was considered less than .05. 3. Results: In this study, the mean age of the subjects was 37.14 ± 6.15 and most of the samples were female (65.7%). The mean score of safe nursing care in this study was 310.27 ± 26.18 (range 73-365). The results of multiple linear regression showed that work experience (β=3.82, p=0.02), education (β=11.28, p0.001) and gender of nurses (β=3.82, p=0.02) were the strongest variables that significantly predicted safe care of nurses at home. 4. Conclusion and Discussion: The findings of this study showed that nurses provide their care with a high level of safety at home. Given the importance of anticipating risks and managing them properly in the home environment, holding patient safety operational courses and analyzing known errors helps to improve the safety of home care.
